Am I being ignored? Help please!?

So there's this guy and we talk and text all the time. We've admitted to liking each other, but then it got a little awkward. He wasn't texting me like he usually was, so I decided to text him first (I never really do this with guys) He completely ignored me! I know this because I have an iPhone and it tells me when people have read the texts I sent them. Should I text him again today or would I sound too desperate? If not, what should I say? Please help! Also, we are both on Instagram and he still likes all of the pictures I post..
