Is it ok to wear the same. prom dress twice?

I love the dress I wore for my year 11 prom, it was a huge princess ball gown. But I have a prom at the end of year 13 this. Year and I would like to wear it again but everyone says you can't, Is it ok for me to wear this dress again, still at same school! New people have joined
