Minecraft help?! Please?!?

So me and my two friends want to play on the same single player survival world. My first friend hosts the world and my second friend can see it and connect. I can also see it, but when I try to connect, I just reads "Connecting to server" and then "connection failed: connection timed out" and it doesn't work. I connected to it once for about two hours. Then when I left and tried to connect again, it wouldn't work and hasn't since. We are on the same wifi in the same house, but tis only my laptop that can't connect. I don't think it's a firewall problem because I tried so many things and even turned firewall off bit still no luck. Can someone please help?! Thanks!
