I have a problem with google earth?

So i have a problem!I have the latest edition.I start the program normaly however I can't really use it the way I want cause there are some kind of red arrowns in the screen and a slightly visible dot in the centre of it.I cannot zoom in cause whenever I try it doesn't let me and just take me "upwards" and shows the earth from a certain angle.Do you know what that is?
