htc wildfire s says that there is insufficient shortage available but i just bought an 8GB memory card?

i had a 2GB memory card before and i just bought an 8GB one today and it is still saying the same thing, even when i try moving apps from the internal storage it still says there isnt enough storage available even though it says i have 7.39GB available. WHATS GOING ON!! its sooo annoying
