I live in the forest on an old road, and stray cats are coming to my family's house!?

So recently I had a stray cat come to my family's house. We live on a road that mostly no one lives on, and it's very rocky. We suspected that someone dropped the cat off. Today, another cat came to my house, and we could hear another one howling off in the distance. We aren't sure whether someone is dropping the cats off at the road (since no one uses it), or they are coming from the forest. We have seen a lot more cars than usual on our road, and we don't know what to do if more cats keep coming!
