Best language for game development?

Plan to remake Zelda MM cause I got 7 other people to help me :) Im going to be writing the code. I know N64 games were made in C but I plan to make the game a bit modern. Any other languages I could use? Is unityscript ok? I really want to use unity for the project. And yes I know to make models and animations you need other software I know. Don't worry we got all the software except for the game engine. So... Please help!
