Did the prophet Mohammed marry a 9 year old?

I was curious if he did. Would that qualify as paedophilia or was it just tradition back then? That certainly seems like a huge age gap. Also, if I was 40 or 50, I would not consider marrying anyone that young. In fact, they would at least have to be 35 (lol). Seriously, is this true or just rumours.
