Does gmail email have an embedded notes application?

In the Outlook client, you have calendar, notes, tasks, and your email all in one application. In gmail, I have my email, and I use the calendar as well. However, I cannot find a descent notes application that is within the gmail app itself. Is there an extension I have to download? I want the ability to sync it to my iphone 4 as well.
