Question #11200183

heir of deceased mother unclaimed property...does the money have to be split between siblings?

my mother has unclaimed property not much more than a grand. I have other brothers and sisters but I am the youngest beside my baby brother ... I was wondering if I filed for this claim will it have to be split between all of us? or do the person who does the claim (which will be me) get it all? and no I'm not being greedy and just want to take all of the money ... its not tht much...but Im in college and also work and need a car ... I currently walk 30 minutes from work and its starting to get really cold out! there's no way I can walk home in piles of snow...I can honestly use it more thn my other siblings...so am i liable to receive all of it?
