Question for fans of the walking dead comic series?

I've read the comics, and I think they're great. However, I'm curious as to how people would rank the volumes(trade paper backs) together? Which one would you say is most exciting? One with the most character development? Most important one? Least best to THE best? Which would you say is the least best? (none are bad in my opinion) Most shocking? My favorites would have to be volumes 3,8,9 and 14 and I'm curious as to what volumes people favor the most.
