Why this guy posts uglier picture of himself on Facebook?

Theres this guy very cute. But when I went on his facebook page. The profile picture he uses is like ok. Like hes a 8 out of 10. But uses a pictures thats more of a 6 out of 10. When asked said he thinks it better people think hes uglier so then when they meet him in real life they will be more happy then disappointed. Does anyone else do this? I think its weird.
