How do you keep banana bread from getting mouldy after a few days?

Do I need to mash up the bananas better? I made it from scratch before, and might try that again, but after two days it got mouldy. I have another question too. My bread didn't stay together very well. It broke apart in pieces, do I just need to cook it longer?
