What is it that drives the Lebron fans to be "better than Kobe?"?

Well, if you're anybody who knows anything, then you'll also know that for the last 4 or 5 years, the Lebron fans primary focus has always been about him being or becoming "better than Kobe" Why do they keep doing this? It makes me sad. =(
