Should this still hurt??

Ok so Monday I was walking around the band room in my socks like I always do when I felt something poke me in the heal. I think it was a staple because someone was fooling with it. Anyways whatever it was i had to dig it out with a safety pin because its all they had for me to get it out. I removed something long and black but its almost Thursday and hurts bad.should it still hurt or is there something wrong?
