Was it because i was "mesmerized"? Lol?

So i locked eyes with this guy and his eyes seemed to be dark brown but then i saw him a couple days later and they were grey! Is it possible that they changed color or do you think i was just seeing things. If i was seeing things then was is because i was like "mesmerized" lol that sounds cheesy ik
