Size six is the new plus size?!?

I'm 5'5 and a size six. I've got a 24'inch waist and a 32'inch hip. I do have curves and all but I've been reading about how size six is the new plus size. I thought my size is fine, but my friend compares me to girls who are like a size two! (she's a size 14) and it makes me feel big...
