How to put two pieces of wood together side by side? Reptile vivarium?

I have a bearded dragon and he's currently in a 3ft vivarium. I have an old 2ft one that I'm no longer using and was thinking of connecting it to the 3ft one instead of spending more money on another one. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do this? I've looked all over online and can't find a single thing. It would be side by side, I'm just not sure on how to connect them. Any suggestions would be great :) thanks
