No makeup, weird clothes.. on purpose?

I've been out with this girl a few times and it seems like she's trying to make herself look unattractive on purpose, possibly in an effort to see if I like her for her? I've never encountered anything like this. Is this a game women play? Has anyone ever done/dealt with this?
