I have a crush on my University teacher?

Sounds cliche, I know it does, but I can't handle it. You see, I find him very sarcastic and smart, knows how to make a good joke, has great manners and all of these make me think about the fact that I could have so much things to learn from him, as I am only a freshman not only in University, but in my path of life as well. I sent him an email, trying to not push that line, but I inserted somehow a few subtle remarks. He thanked me, I responded back, but no answer anymore. I know he is not married, nor does he have kids. I just want to forget about all the society's rules and go for what my heart tells me. I want to send him an email and tell him that i am in love with him.
