How can I keep my hair clean and manageable in the winter?

During the summer months, I tend to have a lot of oil in my hair and have to wash it every day to keep it clean, but in the winter, my scalp and skin dry out really bad and I have problems with static. My hair is very thin and I always wash it every night when I take my shower. So, I need some suggestions on how often to wash my hair in the winter, what to use to prevent my hair from getting frizzy in the mornings, and the best shampoo to use. Thanks! :-)
