Problem with virtual console download on wii mode on wii u?

I just recentiy got wifi to use, so I have downloaded a few things on the eshop. Then I wanted to get a few things on the wiishop VC on wii mode. I put in $10 for 1000 points to get paper mario. That went fine. Then I went to download the game and it started downloading for a few minutes. It then said there was an error and the screen turned black. I had to unplig and replug the wii u to restart. Then I go to see that my points are gone, and no game, so I lost $10 for nothing. Does anyone know what this problem is, and can I get my $10 refunded?
