Got an advice email from my job interviewer?!?

I just had an interview with this person earlier today and got more advice and suggestions in things that i asked during the interview regarding the project that i sent him over the email. At the end he basically said something that i need to remember throughout my last year at school. Im pretty sure hes basically saying "YOU ARE NOT HIRED", but am wondering if my reply should concentrate on responses on his advice only or send him a thank you email with wish his team the best along with my appreciation on his advice. Any suggestions?
