What do I need to make tracks like this?

I've been inspired by some artists to begin producing my own music and am struggling to make a home studio. I can't decide between midi sequencers or keyboards... what would be necessary to make tracks like calm down/complete by g eazy, or pretty much anything like those chill, pop beats? Also... if I were to get a Maschine, the included DAW isn't good enough to make full blown tracks right? That's a main dilemma of mine, because then what's really the point of getting a maschine when I can get a keyboard with protools? Thank you everyone
