Children's psychiatric center?

How long dose one stay? My girlfriend tried to kill herself about a year ago, and was in there. Now she is 17 and her mom is crazy and she doesn't feel safe at home. Tried running away, when the cops found her, they just put her in there. It's been since a Friday. So how long will she be in there?
