Did I get upset for no reason?

My boyfriend will often say hes boerd while talking to me on the phone. I will try to talk about basketball, or ask him about his day at school to keep him interested. His comments do hurt my feelings. Last night, when I told him my sister and I were planning a trip to an old, historic part of town he said "you are so old fashioned" I told him there is a lot to do there, and he laughed and said "sounds boring" I lost my temper, told him he was rude and we hung up. I felt he was making fun of me, while he claimed he didn't mean to imply I was boring but my trip didn't sound like his cup of tea.
