Should I get a new bed?

I have had my loft bed (because I have a small room) for a little over a year and I am getting very claustrophobic so close to the ceiling. I am thinking of asking for a nice normal bed for christmas but I feel bad not having it long enough. What should I do???? A.S.A.P Thanks!!
