Can I make my 2 month baby sleep on my belly?

He is not able to sleep on his back due to gas problem. I burp him for 1 hour keeping him in upright position . Still he feels uncomfortable sleeping on his back. I put him lying on my belly and he sleeps well for 1 to 2 hours on my belly. . Is that safe? Please reply soon.Really hard times for me to get him into sleep.
