First time cat owner needs advice.?

I have a 10 week old kitten, and he is so hyper. We play with him all the time. sometimes 2 hours in one play session and he just wont settle down. We cant pet him unless he is sleeping. He bites and attacks our hands, and painfully tries to climb up our legs. He is up to date on all his shots, but not neutered yet. He has to be 12 weeks before my vet will do it. I do use a spray bottle to try and stop some of the naughty behavior, but nothing has changed. I love him to death and I don't know what to do. Please help me do the right thing for my cat.
