What can i do with him now?

there's this guy who's been treating me so bad and he said he loves me. once i took a distance away from him he asked a friend of mine to talk to me and let me talk to him again. he told her he loves me now but he cant be with me, he also said he was a bad guy to me and promised her to change, and he said he doesnt wanna feel attached to me right now. he spoke to me and said he missed me, and he is gonna change and take care of me, but its been two days that he didnt chat with me online and when i see him at uni he seems to be so cold towards me. what can i do?
