Do you agree? Draughts is for real men and checkers are for sissies?

The first time I ever played checkers I was appaled to learn that the pieces cannot "eat" backwards, there was no huffing and the kings could only move one square at a time. Not to mention the boars if 8x8 instead of the more manly 10x10 board of draughts. What are your views?
