Which is the correct way in machine/weight workouts?

Hi, I have been told both. So, I am a bit confused about what would be right way. 1. From lower weights to higher weights (From high reps to low reps) 2. From higher weights to lower weights (From low reps to high reps) Can you please tell me which would be right one?
