Question #5707844

Will a pen drive break / damage if it falls to the ground?

So I use a public computer and I can't check now if its working. Actually i had put the pen drive in my shirt pocket, and when i came home, i forgot about it. When i took of my shirt, i heard a metal crashing sound. It was the pen drive which had fell down. It looked ok, but when i examined it, i found out that the metallic usb part (which extends out of the metal/plastic cover) had become a little loose. When i checked other such usb devices, none other's metal extending part were loose like this one. They were all tight. So I want to know will this affect the pen drive. Will the computer recognize it? Can i view the files stored? I'm worried. It was a 8 gb pen drive.
