What would be a car that is good on gas & has cheap insurance coverage? (For a new driver)?

Im turning 16 in a couple weeks & i'm looking to get my own car. I want a nice car that is kinda sporty but i need something that is good on gas & something that wont put my insurance bill through the roof!. (Looking for a car that is used and around the price of 2000$ or less). Also, what is a good cheap insurance company that offers insurance anywhere in canada? Thanks!!
