Question #7000167

Right side of throat and ear hurts when swallowing?

I had two canker sores on the left side of my mouth and my right tonsil was swollen and had white stuff on it. It only hurt when swallowing and the pain would shoot through my right ear too. There was yellow/ brown stuff when I would cough I went to the doctor and they did a swab test for strep throat and it came back negative. They did a culture and they said it was nothing, my tonsil is no longer swollen and it is less painful to swallow after the canker sores went away. Did all this happen because of a canker sore?
