If someone texts me from mexico with an international texting package am I still charged?

My boyfriend is leaving for Mexico today, and he purchased an international text messaging package with MTS. I understand that text messages he sends me will be free for him, but if I reply to them will I be charged? I am with Rogers by the way and I do not have an international text messaging package.
