I woke up to a red face?!! HELP!?

Last night i applied mary kay acne remedy to my face, i have used this many times before. Usually i rub the cream in all the way but since i felt it never helped i just left the pimple areas moist. I woke up to my face red and its itchy in the red places. i also dont know of any allergies, i have never had an allergic reaction. If you guys might have a reason to why it happened this way please help, and if you have any ways to get rid of it. Thanks :) P.S. im 16, girl
