I fancy this girl not sure what to do?

I fancy this girl who wont reply to any of messages on facebook, i even text her today to wish her a happy birthday and no thanks nothing, would it be rude to ask her why is she not replying or just stop talking to her completely as she is my friends sister who is off to uni in september
