The trinity, is it one or three?

1^3 = 1 1+1+1 = 3 So if we apply that to the trinity does it mean that if they multiply with one another then they are one, where as when they come together as individuals they remain as three ? Yes I know I'm confused, still appreciate your thoughts though.
