Going out alone to bars?

I'm a guy living away from home for the summer which means that I don't have too many friends here I don't really care too much about meeting new guy friends here but I do still want to hit on girls. The thing is back home I never go out alone but always w friends so I'm not used to ever going to a bar/club alone to try and find girls. My 'game' is good so I'm sure that ill be able to meet girls and they would enjoy talking to me, but is this creepy to girls when a guy goes out alone? I would be honest and tell them that I'm alone because I'm here for the summer and haven't made guy friends. But still is this weird to do?
