Is the gay marriage topic overshadowing more important problems like the economy and job creation?

Gay people should just be gay without having to remind the entire world every chance they get. It's working out perfectly for politicians and the gov't because instead of dealing with difficult issues that affect everyone, they can shift people's focus to gay marriage. It's a waste of time, just shut up and be gay on your own. Gay people are just further alienating themselves and annoying non-gays
