Where do we REALLY go after death?

I don't know if I'm religious. If I am, I'm not a Christian. I believe, after learning about many religions in school Christianity is not the best one. I just want to know, since energy CANNOT be created or destroyed, where does our energy go? Is it transferred to a more simple life form, such as a tree or plant? Or is it recycled into another human? I know no one has the true correct answer, I just want to hear your opinion. Thanks! :)
