Cancer question PLEASE help?

I am a 16 year old male. My dad noticed I had a freckle on the side of my head when he was cutting it. It is perfectly round and evenly colored. It's not really huge either. It has some hair growing out of it. My mom said it was there for a while. We are going to go to the doctor to check it just to be careful. Should I be worried at all about cancer? How long should I wait to get it checked? Thanks for any help!
