Why are republicans losing and democrats winning?

I'm a republican and today feels like one of the worst days of my life, first the supreme court striking down DOMA and now an abortion filibuster by a female Texas senator by the name of Wendy Davis. Why is this happening, is it because Obama won and is using his presidency as a platform to advance his social policies and force liberals opinions on everybody else. I haven't felt this upset since Obama got reelected back n November, can the GOP reclaim victory in 2016?
