Is an insulated trumpet case a good place to smuggle fireworks?

I have no other method I can use to smuggle a small stash of fireworks across a state line than to stash them inside of an old trumpet case. Are the fireworks safely stored with no possible way of being ignited and will the fireworks reach their destination?
