Places from the East of lake Michigan with beautiful clear water?

Ok, we live in Illinois, and have been to New Jersey, multiple times. We drive, and don't fly. Next year we want to plan a vacation where there is BEATIFUL CLEAR WATER!!! No hawaii! East of Lake Michigan!! We don't want to travel too far like Florida. Are there clear lakes? Ponds? Thank you!
