If two couples lease and apartment and when things get sour can one leave and screw the other one over?

So like i said above i was with this girl for about two years and had a kid with.. we leased our own apartment and the lease ends in december. But things got sour between us, i wont go into detail. And im still in the apartment. And she saying she talked to her parents and they said she can just take her name off lease and id be stuck with everything bills etc. Is that legal? And we live in washington. And from what i see is she the top /first signer for the lease and im second.. would that matter at all? So any help would be apritiated. And if she can do that to screw me over can i do anything about it?
