How to get back to Atlanta?

My brother is moving across the country so I offered to give him a ride because he didn't have a car yet. we got here, and I he realized the area is vastly different than Atlanta and he cannot NOT have a car. So I'm going to let him keep my car and find a way back home--saving money by shipping my stuff back. Problem is I have a 6 week old kitten who has to come back too...Greyhound doesn't allow pets, and it seems only Airtran does. But I am down to my last 50-not even enough for the kitten's spot on the plane! Any tips on what I should do? I was planning on an extra pay check, but my job decided not to give it to me until Christmas time which really screwed me over no matter how you look at it.
