My 5 year old son is driving me crazy?

My 5 year old drives me insane, he is so naughty I don't know what to do. Everytime he doesn't get his way he screams at the top of his lungs, shouts at me, throws things. What ever I do it doesn't work, I put him in his room and he starts throwing things, runs out of the room and screams, yells, calls me names, he bites and scratches at his little brother and me as well, I just want to scream myself. His father works at night so I have both boys to look after, it is a challenge to bath him, and I hate trying to bath him. He doesn't understand what he does is wrong. Now my younger son is starting to copy him. When I wake up I know what the day is going to be like, it is never good, the majority of the day is him screaming and tantrums. I am exhausted and frustrated I don't know what to do, can someone please give me some advise.
