can somebody please help?i want rats?

ok i amm willing to buy every thing cage,toys,bedding,food,ect.but the problem is my parents.there thinking about letting me get mice but i really want two male rats!i know every thing about them!ive wanted rats for 3 years now.i really want a pair.my parents think there nasty but there really not...how can i convince them????please help!
